Definition
Irritable Bowel Syndrome is one of the most common digestive disorders, appearing in 15-30% of the total population, and their symptoms are twice more common in women than in men. It refers to all symptoms caused by hyperactive systolic dysfunction of the colon muscle without other organic lesions. Therefore, even when no abdominal disease is found by colonoscopy or X-ray examination, there can be chronic or repeated unpleasant digestive symptoms, i.e., abdominal pain after eating or light stress, changes in bowel habits such as bloating and diarrhea or constipation, and discomfort even after defecation, it can be confirmed as irritable bowel syndrome.

Causes
Abdominal inflation, incomplete defecation, heartburn, vomiting, frequent farts, mucous stools, low body temperature, hard lump in stomach, frequent diarrhea with thin stools and pain are common symptoms. Sudden movement of intestines can also cause severe abdominal pain called “intestinal cramps.”
There are two types of irritable bowel syndrome. One can involve pain like squeezing or stabbing in the stomach. It hurts the stomach, especially in the left lower abdomen, but it can hurt anywhere. If you touch your abdomen when your stomach hurts, you sometimes may feel a sausage-shaped hard lump. With diarrhea and constipation, the stools are thin and watery. The other one involves only diarrhea without pain and rarely occurs.
