· Postoperative bowel movement
01
It is recommended to have a bowel movement once a day, so please take a fiber supplement to make a stool softer.
02
It is normal to have a bowel movement within 2 days after the surgery, but you don’t need to worry even if two days pass without one.
03
You can use enema if needed, after getting approval from your surgeon.
-
· Postoperative sedentary bath
For 3~4 weeks after the surgery, it is highly recommended to take a hot bath in plain water and soak for less than 5 minutes. It may reduce your pain, prevent infection, and stimulate blood clot lysis and wound healing process. You don’t necessarily have to boil the water but please mix the appropriate amount of hot and cold water to make the water reach 40~41°C. Please avoid soaking in excessively hot water or adding salt or antiseptic into the water, because it may burn and irritate the wounded area.
